Lucy Maud Montgomery, a P.E. Islander with a big imagination, is a celebrated author whose works are still honoured today. Starting with one plot that she had scribbled down as a girl - this was later to become the infamous Anne of Green Gables - she slowly worked her way up to fame. As well as the eight books published featuring her beloved red-head Anne Shirley, also very popular were her Emily and Pat series, and many other stand-alones as well, featuring Jane, Kilmeny, Valancy, Marigold and more.
